Maidenform is a world leader in lingerie with a long tradition since 1921. Over the years, the brand has developed into a renowned manufacturer, which brings to market luxury linens of the highest quality. Maidenform was founded by three people: Ida Rosenthal, who worked as a seamstress, her husband William and Enid Bissett, who owned a store where Ida worked. Their aim was to fight for the dull, shapeless and totally unfeminine underwear, which at that time was almost the only choice. These three people rather designed and produced original lingerie to prefer feminine shapes. Maidenform has survived many successful and even poorer years, until the beginning of the new millennium – then it has become a leader in the field of shapewear brands in the US market.
