Popular American fashion design house Kate Spade New York was founded in 1993 and since then it has won favour with millions of women and men worldwide. At that time, Kate Brosnahan Spade decided to create the perfect handbag design. Despite the minimum experience she combined sleek, utilitarian shapes and colorful palettes in an entirely new way and thanks that she created the brand Kate Spade NY. Three years later it was opened the first store in SoHo in New York, that women and fashion critics loved because of the fresh and modern sensibility. In 2007, fashion designer Liz Claiborne gained post in the management of the brand and she decided to slightly modify the brand concept. From its original focus purely on the handbags, the assortment of Kate Spade NY expanded to clothing, jewelry, bedding, shoes, stationery, eyewear, tabletop, gifts and fragrance. Besides fashion lines for women, Kate Spade NY also offers clothing for men, under the brand Jack Spade.
