Quiksilver is originally an Australian brand which was founded in the late sixties in Australian town Torquay. It focuses by its collections on apparel for surfing, windsurfing, snowboarding and generally mainly for board sports. Its establishment is a work of two men, Alan Green and John Law, whose aim was to create a range of boardshorts that combines a function, fit, art and fashion. The category of people, for who was the clothing specified for, were mountain and ocean lovers. Green and Law discovered a hole in the market which had showed early when their clothes began to celebrate successes. Currently you can find Quiksilver branches on all continents all around the world. In addition to its collection, Quiksilver also sells a special brand only for women - Roxy. Quiksilver still experiences successes, but doesn´t keep all the profit for itself. In 2004 Quiksilver founded The Quiksilver Foundation committed to benefiting and enhancing the quality of life for communities of boardriders across the world by supporting environmental, educational, health and youth-related projects.
