For more than 115 years since its founding, the brand Wilson Leather has become one of the leading sellers of high quality leather accessories and outerwear. Today's appearance of the brand has its history in two separate companies: the first was Berman Buckskin founded in 1899 - leather apparel manufacturer-retailer which was known for its fringed buckskin shorts and jackets. The second company was Wilsons House of Suede, which was founded in the 40s of the 20th century, focusing on affordable suede and leather apparel. In 1982, both these companies were bought by Melville Corporation – as the first Wilsons House of Suede, then Berman Buckskin - and then merged into one. In 2008 the brand was bought by G-III Apparel Group, under which now also operates over 180 stores throughout the United States and also offers the option of shopping throughout its website. Currently, the brand offers fashion and value through an assortment of designer brands and special purchases for both men and women. Wilson Leather also offers a wide range of additional fabrications such as wool, cotton and faux-leather to give its customers more options. The offer also includes handbags, briefcases or travel items.
