American popular fast food Sonic runs on drive-in principle and is the largest American restaurants of this type. Company history dates back to the 50s of last century, when company founder Troy Smith Sr. based drive-in stand selling hamburgers and root beer. The possibility, that a person can order food without getting out of the car, fascinated thousands of people and Smith's idea was a huge successful. In that times the slogan "Service at the Speed of Sound" was born, which was then transformed into today's name Sonic - it was in 1959. By the way, the first stand, which caused the birth of such giant company, still works and can be found in Stillwater in Oklahoma. Now Sonic is daily visited by 3 million people who taste sandwiches, hot dogs, chicken wings and other goodies. In addition, Sonic boasts offering one million drink combinations, for example thanks to freshly brewed Green Iced Tea. Another popular reason why people so often go to Sonic is its nice atmosphere - and smiling carhops on roller-skates and the mint which every customers, who buy a drink, dessert or meal, received. One humorous curiosity at the end: in one year Sonic sell so many Cherry Limeades that the amount of them would be fill 50 Olympic swimming stadiums.
